Counties Cup Day Sponsor
Counties Racing Club was pleased to welcome the global freight forwarding company DHL as sponsor of the 2008 $150,000 Group II Counties Cup.
The 'DHL Counties Cup the Group II 2100 metre handicap' was be held at Pukekohe Park on Saturday November 22nd 2008.
After the announcement was made in 2008, Brian Broom, Managing Director of DHL Global Forwarding said "We are looking forward to being associated with this prestigious Group II event and working with the Counties Racing Club,”
“Late November is an ideal time of the year for us to thank our customers and we think that a day at the races at a relaxed country venue like Pukekohe Park is an ideal way to entertain our large cross section of clients,” concluded Broom, a racing enthusiast since childhood.
”I went to Counties, Avondale and Ellerslie as a youngster with my parents and we enjoyed many days at the races with members of our extended family. In later years I became an owner and had shares in a horse Wild Trip who won a race on $30,000 day at Counties in 1997. At the moment I have shares in around 11 horses.”
Counties Racing Club is excited to have an international company like DHL on board to sponsor its prestigious Group II $150,000 Cup.
